Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 Reveals New Games, Release Dates and Kojima Updates
Xbox presented a packed lineup of announcements during its Tokyo Game Show 2026 Broadcast, showcasing upcoming games from studios across Asia and the rest of the world. The presentation featured 17 fresh gameplay reveals and announcements, alongside a surprise release and a world premiere.
Among the biggest updates were a new campaign trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, fresh details about Hideo Kojima’s PHYSINT, the world premiere of Faraday Blues, new gameplay for several upcoming titles and the immediate Xbox release of Shape of Dreams.
The broadcast also highlighted Xbox’s 25th anniversary and more than 20 years of the brand’s presence in Japan.
Hideo Kojima Reveals PHYSINT Lead Actor
Hideo Kojima appeared near the end of the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 Broadcast with new information about two KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS projects, OD – KNOCK and PHYSINT.
One of the major announcements concerned PHYSINT. Swedish actor and producer Bill Skarsgård will portray the game’s lead character. A new poster for the project was also revealed, featuring Skarsgård alongside Charlee Fraser.
The presentation did not provide a release date for PHYSINT.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Gets New Campaign Trailer
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 received a new campaign trailer ahead of its October 23, 2026 launch.
The campaign finds Captain Price on the run as war erupts on the Korean Peninsula and a catastrophic weapon risks falling into the wrong hands. Players who pre-order the Standard Digital Edition or Vault Edition will receive Campaign Early Access beginning October 16.
This means eligible pre-order customers will be able to begin the campaign one week before the full October 23 release.
Faraday Blues Makes Its World Premiere
Serenity Forge used the Xbox presentation to unveil Faraday Blues, a surreal science-fiction adventure built around interconnected stories and decisions that can alter events across different eras.
The story follows a daughter searching for parents who do not know she exists. Players collect and play character cards to rewrite tragic choices across three interconnected visual novels, with decisions carrying forward through three different eras and visual styles.
According to the announcement, Faraday Blues features 64 reality-altering endings, with changes to individual moments potentially reshaping the future of an entire family.
The game is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and cloud, with Xbox Play Anywhere support.
Crazy Taxi: World Tour Adds Japan
SEGA revealed Japan as one of the locations players will be able to explore in Crazy Taxi: World Tour.
The Japan map will combine historic neighborhoods and traditions with the energy of a modern city. Players will be able to freely explore the streets, get to know the locals and pick up souvenirs.
Crazy Taxi: World Tour is scheduled to launch in 2027 and is available to wishlist on Xbox Series X|S.
Persona 4 Revival Introduces Naoto Shirogane
Atlus presented a new character trailer for Persona 4 Revival, the upcoming remake of Persona 4.
The trailer focuses on Naoto Shirogane, the high school detective and member of the Special Investigation Team who joins the protagonist in investigating a series of mysterious incidents.
Persona 4 Revival is scheduled for February 18, 2027. It will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and cloud, and will also be included with Game Pass. The game supports Xbox Play Anywhere.
New Gameplay Shown for Raji: Kaliyuga and Wo Long 2
Several upcoming action games received new gameplay presentations during the broadcast.
Nodding Heads showed an extended first look at Raji: Kaliyuga. Set six years after the original game, the sequel expands the conflict to include gods, asuras and other mystical forces. It also changes the perspective of the series, moving from the original game’s isometric presentation to a full third-person action-adventure format.
Raji: Kaliyuga is planned for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and cloud. It will be included with Game Pass and support Xbox Play Anywhere.
Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember also received a new gameplay presentation featuring a boss fight against the demon Zuochi. An Alpha Demo is available until September 30, and players who complete it can receive the Fledgling Phoenix Helmet in the full game.
Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember launches March 4, 2027 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and cloud. Xbox Play Anywhere will also be supported.
Shape of Dreams Gets a Surprise Xbox Release
One of the broadcast’s surprise releases was Shape of Dreams, which became available on Xbox Series X|S on the day of the presentation.
The roguelite follows Travelers through repeated combat runs, with Memories used to build their power. The new trailer also introduced Cetus and showed four-player gameplay.
Shape of Dreams launched on Xbox Series X|S and was available with Game Pass from day one. Cross-play is supported at launch, allowing Xbox players to team up with players on other supported platforms.

Once Human’s free Isles of Abyss expansion was presented as the game’s largest free content update to date. It introduces full ship-building, island and ocean survival, deep-sea exploration and new endgame boss encounters. The expansion launches October 22 on Xbox Series X|S and is included with Game Pass.
Fallout 76: The Slasher Is Available Now
Bethesda also showcased Fallout 76’s latest update, The Slasher, with a new animated trailer.
The update is already available to Fallout 76 players and introduces a storyline that unfolds over multiple weeks. Players investigate a series of masked murders, with activities including fighting groups of Slasher supporters and searching unmarked graves for clues. Rewards include a unique Power Armor set and the Super Slasher weapon.
Other games featured during the broadcast included Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories, Bloomwalker and Genigods: Nezha, each of which received new trailers or developer updates.
Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 Expands the Upcoming Xbox Lineup
The Tokyo Game Show 2026 presentation provided a broad look at Xbox’s upcoming release calendar, ranging from games arriving in October and November 2026 to projects scheduled for 2027 and titles that have not yet received release dates.
