Xbox Game Pass Adds Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and More in August 2026
Xbox has revealed the second wave of games joining Game Pass in August 2026, bringing new releases and expanded access to cloud, console and PC players.
The latest update includes three day-one Game Pass releases: Vapor World: Over the Mind on August 19, Blood Dungeon on August 25 and Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy on August 27. Other additions include BlazBlue Entropy Effect X, Relooted, Starsand Island, Aerial_Knight’s DropShot and Young Suns, while Shelldiver follows on September 1.
Several existing games are also expanding to Game Pass Premium, and subscribers are getting new in-game benefits for Once Human and World of Tanks Modern Armor. Meanwhile, five titles are scheduled to leave the library on August 31, followed by NBA 2K26 on September 6.

Three Games Are Coming to Game Pass on Day One
Three games in the latest wave are joining Xbox Game Pass on their first day of availability through the service.
Vapor World: Over the Mind arrives in Game Preview on August 19 for cloud, console and PC through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. The narrative-driven souls-like platformer follows a boy drawn into a distorted dream world as he searches for lost memories. Its gameplay focuses on deflection-based combat while players explore a world shaped by sorrow and regret.
Blood Dungeon follows on August 25 for cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. From the creators of Nidhogg, the game combines 2D platforming with survival mechanics. Players move through dangerous dungeons, evade monsters and collect blood and power-ups. Bones earned during successful runs can be used at the Bone Shop to become stronger, while quests unlock upgrades, arenas, skins and other content.
The third day-one addition is Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, which arrives later in the month as one of the headline releases in the August lineup.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy Arrives August 27
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy joins Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on August 27, with support for cloud, Xbox Series X|S, handheld and PC.
The game follows Sophia as she travels to the Minotaur’s Island, where she faces deadly trials while an army pursues her. Players will navigate dangerous routes, solve puzzles and fight to stay ahead of their enemies.
The journey also leads Sophia towards a terrifying creature connected to the myth surrounding the island, adding another threat to the challenges she encounters along the way.
More Games Join Game Pass Premium
Several games are expanding to Game Pass Premium as part of the August update while also joining Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
BlazBlue Entropy Effect X joins Premium on August 19. The roguelite action game is set in the BlazBlue universe and combines 2D visuals with fast, responsive combat. Xbox also highlights a free major content update that adds Platinum to the game on Xbox Series X|S.
Relooted arrives on the same day. The Africanfuturist heist game focuses on reclaiming real African artifacts from Western museums. Players recruit crew members, plan escape routes and carry out heists to recover the targeted artifacts.
Starsand Island follows on August 20 with a very different experience. The pastoral life game centres on a slower island lifestyle, with activities including fishing, exploring the Moonlit Forest and interacting with animals such as capybaras, cats and dogs.
Aerial_Knight’s DropShot and Young Suns Expand the Lineup
Aerial_Knight’s DropShot arrives on August 25 for cloud, Xbox Series X|S, handheld and PC. The stylized FPS racer puts players in control of Smoke Wallace, who gained the ability to fire bullets from his fingertips after being bitten by a radioactive dragon. The game combines high-speed racing with shooting, rival encounters and battles against dragons.
Young Suns arrives on August 31 alongside its 1.0 full release. The narrative life sim takes place after a successful revolution on Jupiter and lets players explore fantastical planetoids, abandoned ruins and converted stations.
Players can experience Young Suns alone or with a crew of up to three friends while helping Jupiter’s citizens rebuild. The game will be available through Game Pass Premium, Ultimate and PC Game Pass on cloud, console and PC.
Shelldiver then joins the catalogue on September 1 for Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass. The incremental game follows an elderly turtle who catches jellyfish and sells them at a small shop. Progress involves upgrading equipment and exploring different biomes and ocean depths while helping the local turtle population.
Egging On Expands to Game Pass Premium
Egging On became available through Game Pass Premium on August 18 and is also included with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
The unusual platforming game puts players in control of a fragile egg attempting to escape a henhouse. Players have to jump, roll and climb through a farm shop, factory and other hazardous environments while trying to reach freedom without breaking the protagonist.
Egging On is available through cloud gaming, Xbox Series X|S, handheld and PC.
Xbox Also Highlights Wolfenstein 3D
Alongside the upcoming additions, Xbox included Wolfenstein 3D in its latest Game Pass update as a title subscribers may have missed.
The classic shooter became available on Xbox Series X|S and Cloud Gaming on August 12 and is included with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. It is available across cloud, console and PC.
The game follows B.J. Blazkowicz as he attempts to escape captivity and fight his way through enemy-controlled passages during World War II.
Game Pass Adds Once Human and World of Tanks Benefits
The August update also introduces additional in-game benefits for eligible Game Pass subscribers.
Once Human receives new benefits on August 25 across Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, Essential and PC Game Pass. They include a console-exclusive avatar, a monthly Meta Pass, daily treasure chests, multiple cosmetic trials, discount coupons and Battle Pass XP boosts.
World of Tanks Modern Armor receives an XP Stock Bundle on September 1 for subscribers to Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, Essential and PC Game Pass. The bundle includes the Björn Larsen 3D Commander and x4 Commander XP Boosters (10).
Six Games Are Leaving Xbox Game Pass
Alongside the new arrivals, several games are approaching the end of their time in the Game Pass library.
Five titles are scheduled to leave on August 31:
- Another Crab’s Treasure, available on cloud, console and PC
- I Am Your Beast, available on cloud, console and PC
- Neon Abyss, available on cloud, console and PC
- One Lonely Outpost, available on cloud, console and PC
- The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt – Remastered Edition, available on cloud and console
NBA 2K26 will follow on September 6, leaving the cloud, console and PC Game Pass libraries.

For subscribers planning what to play next, the remaining August schedule brings releases on August 19, 20, 25, 27 and 31 before Shelldiver arrives on September 1. The end of the month is also an important deadline for anyone still playing the five titles scheduled to leave on August 31.
